About Me

Gene Tognetti is an experienced educator with an extensive background in integrating practical educational technology in K-12 schools. Most recently, Gene was the Director of Professional Development and Educational Technologist at Presentation High School in San Jose, CA. Prior to that, he was the Vice Principal at a local PK-8 elementary school, and also served as the Director of Technology at the school.  He provides professional development for the 
Krause Center for Innovation, the EdTech Team and other organizations. Gene is a mentor for the Intel Education Accelerator, on the board of the Silicon Valley Computer Using Educators, and an edtech consultant with GreyED Solutions. He is also a Master Educator and team Mentor for the Technovation Challenge, helping girls from all over the world to learn and apply the skills needed to solve real-world problems through technology.

In May, 2016, Gene received a Master of Educational Technology degree from Boise State University. 

Gene is a Certified Google Trainer, Certified Google Educator (Level 1 and 2) and is a member of the 2011 cohort of MERIT (Making Education Relevant and Interactive Through Technology) through the Krause Center for Innovation at Foothill College, where he also serves as adjunct faculty. He is also certified as a Leading Edge Digital Educator.
